India Post International Parcel rates

If you are looking to use the India Post’s International Postal service, here are the rates you may need to pay:

Flat Rate Boxes: These are available in (up to) 1, 2.5 and 5 kg boxes and will be charged at Rs.1000, Rs.1500 and Rs.2500 respectively.

Note that any parcel which is above 4kg must be registered and there are other restrictions too like:

The weight of parcel must not be more than 10 kgs if destined to a Post Office address and not more than 20 kgs if other wise.

Easy and Convenient transport since they go in recognized boxes

Bar Code for faster processing and easy tracking

Printed documentation and customs declaration

The following rates are assumed for an item being sent to the United States:

Letter: Unregistered letter weighing less than 30 grams via Air costs Rs.38

Aerogramme: Un-registered Aerogram Rs.15

Post Card: Rs.7

Air Mail Post Card: Rs.12

A small packet weighing 100 grams: Unregistered and transported via Air costs Rs.65

10 KG parcel: Transported via Air costs Rs.3885

20 KG parcel: Transported via Air costs Rs.7485

30 KG Bulk Bag: Transported via Air costs Rs.10350

Note: Depending on the items being sent, the recipient may be required to pay Customs duty to release parcels from Foreign Post Office in the destined country.
