iCube mobiles, another wannabe new player in the mobile manufacturing industry in India. The brand name is nice (icube, may be inspired by Apple I suppose), their website is cool too, lets see if there’s something new in their mobile phones.

Needless to say, all their mobiles have the feature of Dual sim with dual standby option. iCube currently have 5 different models starting from the basic model i50 and going higher to i100, i160, i200, i300. The way I see it, i300 is the popular phone among the lot. Lets see what it has:

It’s a Dual sim with both of them being in the GSM frequencies of 1800/900 MHz. It can be said that it is comparatively lower in weight at just about 100gms with a 2 inch screen size. I300 has a 2 megapixel camera with 2x digital zoom. A dedicated music player can play all your mp3 songs besides amr, midi, wav formats that are generally used for ringtones. Its video player uses the mpeg4 format. You can record videos using i300 but its inbuilt 32mb of memory doesn’t allow you to record even a few minutes of it (besides all other stuff that you have on you phone). Nevertheless, you can always increase the memory limit up to 8gb.

I300 has an FM radio (no rds support) and a motion sensor feature that can change wallpapers, animations with just a flick either side. Its Lithium ion battery has a standby time of 350 hrs and a talktime of 5 hrs.

Coming to the connectivity side, you get a WAP browser with GPRS class 12, a USB 1.1 (is any one still using USB 1.1 ?), a Bluetooth function using which you could also setup your i300 as a wireless modem.

A few special features such as world clock, e book reader, torch, currency converter and stop watch wraps up the i300 specifications.
