Guess the Indian Idol 5 winner

[Read Update 2 below] I’ll answer it my self first, I would like to see either Sreeram or Bhoomi as the Indian Idol. A lot of you might agree with Sreeram but Bhoomi, you would sure ask why?

It’s a complete personal choice. Among the contestant left, viz Shivam, Swaroop and Rakesh, Bhoomi has that Spark for me. Also, again, my personal opinion, I do not want another Asha Bhosle Ji or Lata Mangeshkar ji (with due respect to each of them for what they’ve done to our country) but I would rather want a real rock star, in the lights of Shakira, Hanna Montana etc. And if there’s any one in Indian Idol who could go that far, it is Bhoomi.

Sreeram, would however be my choice for the Indian Idol. Few could ask, he is already a singer in the south and it is not fair to put him against freshers. While I agree to that thought to some extent, I will rather see the guts of that guy. Think this way, he is already singing a few songs in the Telugu Industry and every thing’s going well. What if he was eliminated in the first few rounds of Indian Idol? His whole career could have been easily jeopardized. Also, being from Andhra Pradesh, I only heard about Sreeram once he was seen in Indian Idol. So one can understand how little he was known to people here too, as a filmy singer.

What I think about the other three

Swaroop: It seems as though people are enjoying seeing him on screen. But, as a playback singer singing for Bollywood films, I certainly do not see him fit there.

Rakesh: I thought he had some quality, but lost that respect after that dirtily scripted episode last time. Also, being aged 26/27, he’s being too childish (or is it acting? I don’t know)

Shivam: He’s good but his voice is too rough for regular filmy songs.

Update (at 9.30PM on Aug 15): I thought the finale would be telecasted LIVE. But fu**, it is not. It is all a pre-recorded show. It’s very clear, just before a break they showed  a ‘Coming Up’ video that really came up after the break, lol. There are numerous other proof’s to tell that this is not a LIVE show. Don’t know who wrote the script for finale but its bloody bad.

Why didn’t Sony arrange the Finale Live in an Open arena?

Yes, looks to me like that. Poor Bhoomi, she was given some Radio Mirchi Award. Apna Rakesh babu ke paas tho teen char Bikes hain. And the the only thing left is the Indian Idol Title and that is surely going Sreeram’s way.

Anyhow, I wanted Sreeram to Win as he clearly looked the most deserving person. Since the finale is organized in the worst possible manner, I didn’t feel like watching it any more.

Hope I don’t listen to any shocking news tomorrow morning.

Update 2: No gimmicks or tricks played for TRP’s which many channels have been doing lately in choosing the winner in a finale. Sreeram Chandra, a highly deserving candidate from Hyderabad is our New Indian Idol 5.
