From today, residents under Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) can search and request the Birth and death certificates from any e seva center in Hyderabad.
However, it has to be noted that the registration of either Birth or Death will still be done at the respective Municipal Corporation Offices.
Once the registration is done, you can request for a birth certificate by visiting any e seva center. If the certificate is being taken for the first time, the charge will be Rs.50 and from then for every additional certificate the charge will be Rs.20.
Birth certificates online request
The facility to request your Birth/death certificate through online mode has been there since a long time. Since many users may not be comfortable using computers, the new system through e seva has been arranged.
If one needs to use the online system, just visit the GHMC portal and look for the Birth & Death link under the Services section.
Click on that link and in the following page click on the Search & Request Birth certificate link. Then enter the birth/death range (for example, if your son is born on 3 April 2006, enter something like 1 April 2006 to 1 May 2006), choose circle (and ward, optional), Gender and then click on search button.
The resultant page will display all results under that selection containing registration number, Acknowledgement number, Father’s and Mothers name and Hospital in which the child was born.
Click on the registration number/Acknowledge number (1st column) to request the Birth certificate to be delivered to your address through courier by paying Rs.50 (online).
The process is the same for getting death certificate too.

My daughter is now 3+ years and in her birth certificate mothers name is spelled wrongly (totally different). I had realized it when I am trying to apply her passport.
Request to let me know is it possible to change the mother name in the birth certificate, if yes please let me know the process for the same. I knew its really hard to get it done but there must be some way out for this kind of queries.
