Eenadu newspaper application for mobiles

The largest circulated Telugu Daily in Andhra Pradesh ‘Eenadu’ is now available as an application for your GPRS enabled handset.

The content is exclusively formatted for mobile phones which look like a series of headlines on the main page (under different categories). When you click on any link, you’ll get to see the actual story behind the headline.

All you have to do is SMS eenadu to 57333 to get the download link on your mobile as an SMS. This doesn’t make much sense, as you will only get a link to eenadu.newshunt.com which you can visit directly from your mobile phone.

Also premium SMS charges may apply if you SMS to 57333.

So, type http://eenadu.newshunt.com in your mobile phone browser and download the application.

For Nokia mobiles, the application is available in SIS format which should be compatible with every Nokia handset. The application is sized 466kb and downloads quick enough for you to finish the setup in seconds.

If you are using your Operators GPRS facility, standard charges will apply (like for Airtel it is 50ps/30kb through Airtel mobile APN etc)

After the download is finished, install the application by visiting the file manager. When you open the application, you’ll need to set few things before using it. You need to select from categories like headlines, Breaking news, Stories, State news, National news, Politics, Business, Sports, Films, Hyderabad, Sun stars and vasundhara. You can choose all of them to get news from all categories or select any of them. Click Save or OK when you finish.

This application is developed by newshunt and so if you wish, you could download applications for other newspapers too, like deccan herald, The new India express, IndianExpress, Kannada prabha Andhra prabha etc which are developed by Newshunt by visiting the ‘change newspaper’ option in ‘Options’ menu.

The application for Eenadu is really nice, as you can read directly in telugu which isn’t possible directly in many handsets and generally requires a lot of set up.
