Canara Bank, a premier bank and the third largest public sector bank in India has 14 hours a day customer care centre to cater the needs of growing number of customers.

Existing customers of the bank or people who want to be a part of the Canara bank family and want to know about their products can call the customer care number 1800-425-0018 on any day from 7AM to 9PM.

Customers and future prospects can enquire and know about the different deposit schemes that bank has apart from Loan schemes. Customers can also know about their credit card or debit or future customers can enquire about the process to get a card. Branch location/Extension centers and ATM location can also be known by contacting their support staff. Other information like the current Interest rate the bank is implementing for housing, Vehicles etc, service charges for various products like a Demand draft can also be availed.

The existing customers of the bank whose account is in a CBS (core banking solutions) branch can also enquire deeply about their accounts like the Account Statement, Loan account statement, Any problems while using the Internet banking facility, Requesting an Additional Add-on credit card, TDS certificate, cheque status that are sent for collection, Credit or debit card not received even after many days of application or a mistake in credit card statement etc.

The number 1800-425-0018 at present can only be accessed either from a BSNL or Airtel (Landline or Mobile number) and is toll-free.

The Canara Bank ATM at Triveni Road, Near Yeswanthpur Circle, Bangalore is in a pathetic condition since many months now, it has no light on Canara Bank board; no proper lighting inside the ATM; no handle for the door, most customer gets trapped; AC/CCTV not functioning etc. please rectify the same immediately so that it would convenient for public using your ATM.

  2. I am in thirukalukundram kanchepuram dist. In our canara bank, senior manager behaves rudely and cruel. She never responds to people’s questions and she never gives respect to clients. My pan card has error. I want to apply for loan but she didn’t allow me to apply. Please solve dis problem.

  3. I have my account in GKVK branch, Bangalore. The manager in the branch behaves rudely to customers and talks with absolutely no respect for others. We are customers and we expect/demand a minimum level of politeness and character from a person residing in the manager post. I don’t know whether this complaints will be taken care of. But still If our problems are not addressed by the Bank authorities or the complaint cell, we are sure that the bank will certainly lose many of its valuable customers just because of such egoistic and reckless people.

    I am having S.B. A/c at Canara Bank, Khemani Branch, Ulhasnagar 421 002. Today I have myself presented self cheque for withdrawal of Rs.50,000/- but Branch Manager refuse to make the payment and wants PAN CARD. My pan card details are already available in the Bank records and KYC norms have been complied. I have presented my driving license to the Branch Manager still not releasing the payment. I have requested for return of cheque with remarks for non-payment but that has not been done. I request you to kindly take urgent steps to release the payment to me today.

When i use the Syndicate ATM card in Canara ATM @ Hosa Road on 05/09/2012 at 10:22am amount has not come out but i have received the message Rs 4500.00 debited in my account but how it’s happened.     • Haha, you made me laugh a bit Rahul. Sorry for that.
      Solution to your forgotten pin is to visit your branch and they will reset the pin (may be there will be a small fine of Rs.100 or so).

  9. My name is Chandan kumar my account in canara bank, aurangabad, bihar. Sir i inform you today i made a reservation with irctc, then all process complete but reservation not done and my balance is also DEBITED from my account.
    So plz Verify and solve my issue As soon as possible. Plz return my balance in my ac as soon as possible.

    • That is very normal with IRCTC transactions. If your ticket is not booked but money is debited, your refund will happen automatically (mostly) with in 3 days or sometimes it may take up to a week. You don’t have to do anything.

  10. Sub.: Complaint again Mr Hem dealing in Govt. Tax

    We are maintaining a Current account in the name of M/s Sukh Sagar at Canara Bank, BO: Shanker Nagar, Delhi 110051.

    Today, at 11 AM my colleague Mr Shashi Kant went to BO: Shanker Nagar, Delhi and deposited DVAT form along with Cheque. After
    lunch when I went branch to collect the counterfoil of the DVAT Challan, the dealing clerk refuse to do so and told me that he will do the same
    on Friday and collect the counterfoil of challan on Saturday or Monday. Then I took back the challan from him and went to Canara Bank, BO: Gandhi
    Nagar, Delhi and deposit the challan there and they handed over the counterfoil immediately after doing the needful.

    The behavior of dealing clerk Mr Hem (which he told me) is very rude. Every month when I deposit the DVAT he behaves like this
    and deliver the counterfoil after 3 -4 days.

    You are requested to take appropriate action so that in future I will not face this type of problem.

    I am a 85 years old senior citizen and an iaf family pensioner, having my pension account no 16040, at canara bank vile parle (e) branch, mumbai. I have not got the benefits of senior citizen above 80 years i.e. 30% increase declared by the govt of india, and also the medical benefits and the benefits of the 6th pay .
    i have written to the bank way back in 2010 and yet have not received any reply, my personal visits have been in vain as the officer in charge is either on leave or sent for training.
    i am being sent from pillar to post and have been asked to get the calculations from the pension disbursement and submit it to the bank.
    where do you expect a widow twice admitted to icu for heart ailment of 85 years to go and fetch the calculations?
    will some body hear my plea and help me in getting my legitimate dues?

    This is one of the worst services i ever faced. my debit card was lost I wanted to block the debit card. Its been 1 hour I am trying the number given. If you can not make a secure protocol there is no use of providing services. Very disappointing service. I would have closed this account if it would not have been compulsory for our stipend money acquiring.
    Never had such a bad exp. with banks. Try to be professional.

My father is no more & i want to transfer his pension a/c from Syndicate bank to Canara Bank of my mother a/c. But Manager of Canara bank told me to open an a/c at Syndicate bank. I ask if we open an a/c in your bank the business will happen to you only but he replied that only Rs.4 to 5 thousand will come every month.

    Each paise is important for Bank what I hard, but Canara Bank Magadi Mn Rd branch Bangalore Managers are rejecting to transfer the pension a/c so I am going to close my mother saving a/c at Canara bank.

Unfortunately the amount has been deducted from my account but i have not received the cash. The receipt has shown that transaction declined but the amount has been deducted.     this is sorry to inform you that i have deposited the due amount against my home loan A/C n0 21506193266 at Chouki chauraha branch BAREILLY (UP) but yet i have not been fortunate enough to have any clearance certificate by branch or any statement regarding principal/interest paid.i have approached branch twice but there is no any satisfactory response by officials and Sr Branch officer Sri Bishwas.I also contacted GM Lucknow in this regard but the result is Zero.This lead to me great dissatisfaction and leave no room except consumers court. pl go throw the matter and solve accordingly

  26. My saving bank account no.108910—— Malkajgiri Hyderabad. I have applied netbanking application in the month of july’2011. As on today i.e. 06/09/2011 I have not received the USER ID and PASSWORD. In this connection I have contacted the branch but there is no response. State Bank is providing the same on the spot of submission of application. Why canara bank is not providing i can’t understand. Hence I kindly do need full.

    I am SB A/C holder in Mansarover branch,and applied for locker before three -four months in writing ,on dated 23rd Aug 2011 Branch manager called me at branch for lockers. I went to branch to meet Mr. Hemant Singh Branch Manager for locker , they said there are some formalities for allotment of lockers , to deposit Rs 25,000.00 as security money and to take ONE INSURANCE POLICY . I refused to take Life insurance policy, Mr Singh told me then you will come tomorrow , i request him that I am working at Kishangarh Distt Ajmer and unable to come on 24th Aug. they could not consider my request. and i came back. Whether life insurance policy is mandatory ? or only for harassment of customer.

    I see many complaints and understand that many of our esteem customers are not
    quite satisfied with the methods followed in handling their greviances, rectifying mistakes, regardless from our side, or customers side and redressing aggravated situations. It seems like an illness that has crept into our system, and immediate
    response to cure this malady is necessary, before it becomes an epidemic.
    I am not putting the blame on anyone. But, from my experience, when a customer
    is dissatisfied, no matter who is to blame, it reflects on the Institution, and erodes
    the good impression, which is very difficult to reestablish once lost. So, for the
    healthy atmosphere in the Bank, it would be much better if we rectify the matters
    immediately, or at the earliest. This way, the Staff will be happy, and also will the customer.

    I am happy to hear the success stories of our Bank, where I had the privilige of learning Banking, while serving our customers then, (before computers were introduced). We had to write transactions in the Ledgers, enter Passbooks, write Demand Drafts, Mail Transfers, and all other details daily.
    I can’t imagine how fast the old system changed. Hope these changes are for the better, and that all our Bankers retain the warm and personal touch which seems to be replaced by the cold machines.
    But again, being the leading Bank in India, there is no doubt that you will spare no effort to keep the Canara Bank spirit alive and thriving in spite of all obstacles you are facing
    everyday.

    • For your information, if writing here is what you think is ‘registering complaint’ then I’m afraid it isn’t. You have to formally visit your serving canara bank branch and give a written complaint to the branch manager. Problem will be resolved with in 7 days.

    I’m canara bank a/c holder. My debit card told to be blocked on 22/06/2011, as i tried to access it from State Bank of India’s ATM. I called on canara bank toll free no. 1800-425-0018, where i was asked for my a/c details, after which my call was forwarded to ATM card section. The executive at there asked me, from where did i try to access the card, & on my answer as “State Bank of India’s ATM” he said who told to go to that “DABBA” atm. I told that the CANARA bank ATM at my place itself is “DABBA”, then he said then what can i do?
    This kind of attitude at “Customer Care” level is never expected. I think The person has no right to blame other as “DABBA” when yourself are in “DABBA” . That’s not the language i spoke to him, but i wish,” i will next time”.

My Mother had account on your Channarayapattana branch. no single person to give proper information about pass book entry , i hve been trying from 5 month . they put me for hold for hours, then no respond provide me with good service.am very upset with canara bank service. Machine loading process and “TIME OUT”, so money Rs. 2000/- Not received. so immediately further complaint give in Canara bank Manager at Ramanathapuram Branch on 16.05.2011.

  40. My daughter saving account holder in mumbra branch(Thane). I never seen like this bed service.for cash payment and cash withdrawal time more then one hour in working days.
    so many time public complaint to the branch manager to increase the staff and counter but he is replaying if you want to deal with canara bank you have to face all problems otherwise you go another bank.thousands of people had complaint against bank service if you want in writing i can forward you public complaint in writing.here staffs body language also not good with customers.in mumbra other co opretive banks are giving good service better then canara bank.in mumbra city more then 80 percents muslim comunity account holder of bank.but bank staff not responding them.people already inform Mumbra M L A Mr,jitendar Awadh they also spoke with bank manager.but no improvement at all. so please see in this matter and do need full.

    i had saving account in canara bank asthal bohar rohtak from sep 2010-jan 2011. sir due to som e reason i am unable to operate this account. therefore i decided to close the account in jan 2011. at this time i want account statment for income tax return purpose. but i unable to go to rohtak is it posssible to get account statement of transaction made in sep2010- jan 2011. kindly do needful.

    I am a central pensioner retired from Central PWD in the month of August, 1997. My pension account is with Canara Bank, Tripunithura Branch with A/c No:34— (PPO No:439519——). After my retirement I was drawing residual pension (pension amount left out after commutation) along with other allowances. My pay was committedfor 12 years and was ordered upto 24-03-2009 as shown in my pension book. Even after this date I was not drawing full pension and this was pointed out by representing to the bank authorities and on my request it was positively considered by the bank and the arrears since this date was credited by the bank to my pension account. But since 12/2010, the pension was again paid in the old rate (residual pension) and on pointing out this, the bank authorities informed that the pension cases are now dealt with Bangalore instead of Trivandrum and all the records regarding pension are shifted from Trivandrum to Bangalore. So you are kindly requested to look into this matter and necessary instructions may please be issued to the concerned Bank authorities dealing with the pension case at Bangalore to rectify this discrepancy and credit the amount paid short in my above account. I am running short of money due to my bad health and so expecting an early response.

    I wold like to say, unprofessional and illiterate people are got employed in Canara Bank, rural areas, hardly the people know to operate computer, and they are not able to give proper information, better not to get in trouble, i am already in many troubles after their core-banking system, better they go back to the old book and paper system.

Next day morning i went to branch i given written complaint and i have asked for time approx days ti rectify but the employees over their not able to answer my query and they are very harsh to the customers. daily i used to call to different people is bank for help but nobody can sort my issue. thn i called up to mr. shenoy bank officers. he helped me. thanks to him. really the service is very bad. am admin in pvt lmt company. i am planing to close all my empl’s salary account . my humble request to all bank employees be soft with the customers.

    My mother has an account in Canara Bank, RMV II stage,near sadhashivnagar police station, Bangalore branch. this account was opened in 1998 when my father expired and the EPF pension comes to my mothers account.
    Till 2006 there was no problem in recieving the pension to her account. every year november she goes to the branch and signs the life certificate and comes.
    But from four years there is problem, no amount will be credited to her account from january , we wait for some three months and will visit the branch.then the bank manager gives us some form to fill and would ask us to go and give it to the pension office.we did this for three years,…. thinking may be some problem with the pension office but, this year also it has repeated and we have realised that the problem is with canarabank itself they are not submitting the life certificate signed by my mother carefully. my mother is old and she is not aware of roads in bangalore.everytime we someone has to go with her and solve all these problems created by the irresponsible bank managers, which is always not possible as we are married and settled in different place and have kids. My mother is fully dependent on this Pension Amount. She has blood pressure and diabetes and she has to take tablets every day.visit doctor frequently. If this pension stops like this every january till we go and submit the form to the pension office, it is very difficult for her to manage without money and mentally she will be so depressed everytime.
    This is my sincere request to the concerned Canara Bank people to see to that they solve this problem and also see this problem does not repeat again.By doing this you will be helping an old lady.Please be kind to old people.

    I Opened a new account in suratkal canara bank branch near manglore, karnataka state. Its not complaint, just a experince that i will never forget ,, u know right from twenty years in ratnagiri, I used to see my uncles hotel so i had seen the good service of canara bank . Even it is nationalised bank,, the service in ratnagiri , attitude was the best,, but in suratkal it was horrible,, it gave me the true image that ,, yes,, its nationalised bank. just imagine, all my bank formalities were okay,, but the lady who sits in saving account is so busy,, , so getting my passbook i have to just parade each day,, so now today just fifth day has passed on 10th march, i enquired ,, then she removed the passbook, and she told that go just side of this person and enter ur first entry,, ,, just imagine the person was sitting just side of her and no communication with him , ,, just he showed me other passbooks,, so i humbly asked can i get it tomorrow? there is no yes or no,, just i went away praying ,, let me get it tomorrow at least,, it will be a week,,, its not any hurry,, but i never dreamt that canara bank officials can come to this type of service,,,,

Now after my retirement I am getting my monthly pension through account. The problem with this branch is that I am unable to get the dearness allowance arrears drawn then and there. Due to this, an arrears of Rs. 1629.00 is yet to draw. I have represented to the Sr. Manager, Canara Bank, Ulsoor, Bangalore-560008 many times. My last letter (5th Reminder) was submitted on 21.12.2010. They have not drawn the complete arrears so far. Therefore it is requested to do the needful, so that I can get the I D A arrears of Rs. 1629.00 at the earliest.

    i was on a vacation in GOA recently and i have been having my NRE deposits with the MAPUSA branch. on the 9th of Feb i walked into branch and asked the clerk that i wanted to do two electronic transfers to my SBI Branch in Mapuca, i was shocked when he told me Sir i just have one form can you pls go outside the branch and make some photocopies of the forms he told me we do not have forms and no photocopy machine, i approached the Manager Mr Lewis and explained to him what had happened and he just shrugged his shoulder and told me that this should not happen and completed the two transactions for me. He assured me that the funds would be in the recipients account in 2 hrs. When i went to the SBI branch the next morning to update the pass books only one account was updated the second showed no funds. i went to the branch it was already 12 noon that is the 10th of Feb and the Manager was not in his cabin, i then approached a gentleman called Mr Tiwari and tried to inquire with him what had happened all what he told me was he has no idea who was so arrogant to me he asked one of his colleagues to trace the electronic forms which were filled up by the Manager and they were having a hard time to find out where these forms were filed finally he made me fill a new form and they found the original. I asked him what is this going on and i need to talk to you Head office he was so bold to tell me Sir you can go ahead and do what you wish to do, a very sad state of affairs in that Mapuca Branch that gentleman Tiwari is not fit to be sitting in that Branch talking to his clients in this manner, it was 12 noon and the Manager was not even to be seen.

    Can somebody investigate this Mr Tiwari and get back to me i can provide more information since i don’t want to bore you folks with this long story, i don’t think i will want to continue banking in that Branch any more

  51. I have unluckily raised a house loan from your tikona park,faridabad branch ( code 2039 )for rs. 1000000/- in year2005 in the name of neelam kumra . my h/l account no 2039619001494 .since the repayment of h/l started i am facing problems.
    1 i have deposited post dated cheques for repay installments ,your branch never collected the installment without reminder i.e please lodge my cheque for instalment
    2 they impose penalty for delay in installment reason being the said branch never collect the cheque in time.
    3 then i requested(as your branch has no time to collect the installment by cheque) that i will deposit the installment amount in my sb a/c with you by neft from my bank ,you only give standing instructions from savings bank a/c to h.l.account. They (your field officer) said yes, this will be done.but till date no si has been applied,my installment amount remained in my sb account and when my h/l account shows irregular only then they deduct the installment from my sb account
    4 i am very much surprised that why they do not get recovery in time and make a good account as irregular account and imposed penalty for nothing.
    5 dealing officer as well as bm are very careless.

However my basic pension should have been @8520/- plus I am eligible for DR as granted by central govt from time to time. I have run pillar to post to get my pension in the new scale as per Circular No. 430 table 69 issued by PCDA Allahabad(which is an authority to grant pension to ex servicemen).Sir from the Branch manager,Canara bank nemmara a letter was forwarded to the CANARA BANK HEADQUARTERS at Banglore recommending to amend my pension as per the revised scale but to my dismay no action was initiated to amend my pension at the HQ level.

  63. I have an account with your bank, branch Pavaratty, Thrissoor (Dt). That is the biggest mistake in my life. I’m not getting any correct information from this bank. Every month, I’m sending money to this bank. I don’t know whether they received or not. Many times I requested to send at least SMS to me.     • Please dont go for an ATM card from canara bank . there is no gaurantee that you will get back the money if there is a shortage during an ATM transaction. I lost 1000 Rs recently from an ATM counter in NARAYANA Hrudayalaya premises in Bangalore. I did not get back the money even after giving complaint to my Branch. They got a reply from the ATM cell after one month saying “It was a successfull transaction” and cant do any thing about it. Indeed it was a successfull transaction for the service person attending the particular ATM. He may be making a good amount at the end of the day. ,So please think twice before applying for an ATM.

    i have my account with canara bank, indiranagar branch, bangalore-38, with past 27 years, and from past 2years i feel very difficult handling with bank people especially with chief manager. on 07/10/2010 we had court hearing against citi bank for which my layour told me to get the monthly balance sheet from the canara bank, that morning i called up the manager and told him about the mattar, he agreed with it and told me to come . the company’s partner went to the bank to collect the balance sheet as he can Continent to court after collecting balance sheet. he is an handicap person . after reaching bank he met the manager , the manager spoke to him rudely and made him wait for 2 hours . for which he missed the court hearings . he was real heart. is this the service what the bank gives . i am sorry to tell by doing this the bank may loose valuable customer. please look in to this matter to continue our relation ship with the bank.

  72. Sir, Canara Bank sanctioned Rs.90,000/- as educational loan in 3 instalments in the year 2005-06, 2006-07 & 2007-2008 to my daughter’s education. For the loan we have remitted monthly interest regularly for 3 years. Now we settled the entire loan amount to the bank with heavy interest they have charged. The loan was sanctioned by Canara Bank, Mount Road branch. We have written to them for the heavy interest charged by them against the loan, but they didn’t give the reply. we have paid around Rs. 1,45,000/- almost 50% of the loan amount as interest. Why the banks are charging heavy interest to the people like us, by remitting the interest regularly. We need the interest refund. where we have approach to get the refund

    I possessed a safety locker in canara bank Chennai Ambathur branc(Tamil Nadu).I surrenderd the locker on17.12.09.Even though the locker annual rent was debited from my savings account every year around apri/may, an amount of Rs.3552 was debited towards locker rent.I pointed out the dicrepancies and officials said that the amount will be reversed.But till date it is not reversed in spite of several requests in person.

    my brother appplied NRI A/C in ANDHRA PRADESH(KADAPA) from KUWAIT( working as computer operatore) ON 28/10/09, they told we would recieve the bank account with in 10 days, but still he didnt receive any details or messsage branch office, can u please let me know what is the status of my account. please call to 0997983359
