Here’s something different from BSNL, free calls and SMS’s, as per the new ‘Freedom Offer’. Normally, on any festival occasions these discounted call rates and SMS charges do not work, those days are called ‘Black out days’. That list generally includes the ‘Independence Day’ on August 15. But here is BSNL going completely against the herd, and introducing free calls and SMS on occasion of Independence Day.
As per the ‘Freedom Offer’, all STD and Local calls to any number with in the BSNL network made between 11pm on August 14 to 6am on August 15 are completely free.
On August 15th, from 6am to 12pm, all calls with in BSNL network will be charged at 20ps/min only. If you are on a plan where with in network call costs less than 20ps/min, you will be charged as per your plan itself.
Coming to the SMS part, this isn’t restricted to BSNL network. You can send unlimited number of Local SMS to any network from your BSNL mobile absolutely free from 11pm on August 14 to 6am on August 15.
And if you’re a internet user, you can browse Unlimited Internet (only for 2G users) using your BSNL mobile on August 15. See BSNL GPRS settings.
If you didn’t know, Airtel too has such as offer where you can call any Airtel Landline for free on all Sunday’s. Incidentally, August 15 2010 comes on Sunday and you can full toll of this to wish your near and dear a very happy Independence Day, for no cost. Any number that starts with 4 is an Airtel Landline.
