Axis Bank mobile banking Application

We made a brief review of Ngpay application the other day while describing the way to recharge prepaid mobile from mobile. Now we’ll have a deeper look on how Ngpay can turn your mobile into a finance manager. Let’s assume that you have an Axis bank account and have Ngpay App installed on your phone (If you don’t, just visit www.ngpay.com and enter your phone number to receive the application download link. Your phone should have support for Java and GPRS, which most mobiles have).

Axis Bank Ngpay Mobile banking

Once you have Ngpay installed on your mobile, visit any Axis bank ATM for a one time registration. Select ‘Registrations’ and then select ‘Axis shop on Ngpay’. Enter your mobile number there to complete the mobile banking registration.

You’ll soon receive a PIN called ‘mpin’ that you should use to perform all banking related operations pertaining to your Axis bank account.

On your Ngpay App, select Stores++, then Explore All, then Finance (At present, there you’ll see 3 options Axis Bank, HDFC Bank and HDFCMF. More options may be added in the future). Select Axis bank and there you’ll see options such as ‘Balance Enquiry’, Mini Statement, Funds Transfer etc. Before you can access any of those, you’ll have to link your Ngpay application to your Axis bank account. To do this, click on Manage Accounts (as seen in the image) and then Activate Account. Once there, enter your Axis bank account number and the ‘mpin’ that you received during the registration at the ATM. Once that is a success, you can do all those things that are mentioned above right from your mobile through Ngpay (restriction of Rs.5000 funds transfer and Rs.10000 for merchant payments apply).

This Mobile Banking service is free but a one time registration fee applies if registered after March 31, 2010. Call up Axis bank to find out the fee.

Using Axis bank account and Ngpay for shopping

Using Ngpay, you can book travel tickets, movie tickets, buy books and Magazine, Shop for accessories and garments, do mobile recharge etc. During check out, just select Bank accounts and then choose your linked Axis Bank account to perform a safe transaction.

If you have an Axis Bank Visa Debit card, you could also choose that and this doesn’t need any prior registration.
