The Government of Andhra Pradesh has initiated yet another massive campaign, this time to give those ‘eligible voters’ to include their names in the electoral rolls. During this campaign, residents of Andhra Pradesh state who do not have a voter ID card but are eligible (see conditions below), can apply for a voter ID card and those voters who needs to correct or update the information in their cards can do so by filling the applicable form.
Eligibility and schedule
Any resident of Andhra Pradesh who attained an age of 18 years by 1 January 2010 can apply for a Voter ID card. The campaign begins on 28 May 2010 and ends on 12 June 2010 by which the registrations have to be done.
You need 2 recent passport photographs and a proof of your age (SSC memo, Birth certificate etc)
Which form should you use?
Use form 6 to register your name if you are doing it for the first time.
Use form 8 to make any changes (like change in name, address etc) in your voter ID card (this applies if you already have a voter ID card)
Use form 7 to inform the election commission of any deaths that you know in your region.
How to apply
Before you apply, confirm that your name doesn’t exist in the AP Voter ID list
Application forms can be downloaded from www.eci.nic.in or www.ceoandhra.nic.in
Xerox copies of the same can also be used.
If you are living in Hyderabad under GHMC, suitable forms can also be had from Municipal office of Deputy Commissioner, Post Offices or any Petrol Bunks in the city region.
If you are living else where, forms can be had from District Sub collector office, Revenue Divisional Officer (who is also called as Electoral Registration officer for this period) or Tahasildar (also called Assistant Electoral Registration officer) office.
Filled in application forms along with photos and Age proof should be submitted to the respective Electoral Registration officer or Assistant electoral registration officer either by post or in person on or before 12 June 2010.
Residents in the Hyderabad region can also drop their application forms in the drop boxes that can be found at various Petrol Bunks, Post Offices and Malls during this period.

Hi, I have applied for a voter id card online at the end of Nov’2010. Since that day I can see it’s showing the message ‘Your Application No. xyztpq Status to be updated by ERO’. I don’t understand whether really online application is valid registration or just the no use of it. Please share the idea if anybody experienced either way.

Dear Archana,
U go to the headquarters of ur mandal and ask the application for the changing your details. There is a separate form for the corrections. Along with the form, you have to attach the supporting documents as proof.

I would like to inform you that I am having voter’s I.D.card while I was residing at Hno.9-2-7.,Regimental bazar Secunderabad-500-025. I shifted my house to H.no.6/2/298-4.,Padmarao nagar secunderabad.500-025 in 2009 March.I approached number of officials in G.H.M.C for change of my address in my voter’s id card but nobody has done any thing. I even dropped the details along with two photographs in our post office ie., Himmat nagar post office., Secunderabad some time back but of no use .I didnot get any reply nor my voters id is shifted.Please advise me as to what to do?
