Aircel prepaid STD offers

Looks like the mobile phone operators are more concentrating on STD plans more than Local plans. In the recent past we’ve seen a bunch of new STD offers from almost all GSM operators may be to protect their subscribers from the Docomo lure?

Now its time for Aircel to introduce and STD plan in which the STD call rate becomes lower than the local rate from third minute.

That is, the rate for the first minute of a STD call will be Rs.1.50, for the second minute it will be  Rs.1 and from third minute onwards it is only 75p/min.

Not as enticing as others, isn’t it? Imagine you talk for say 3 or 4 minutes, you have to end up paying Rs.3.25 or Rs.4. Now a days, Rs.1/min STD calling rate has become usual and in such cases you’ll only be benefited from this plan if your talk for more than 4 minutes per call. Again if you talk more only to lower your bill and take the advantage of this plan, it’ll sure blow up your bill.

Existing Aircel customers can avail this offer with a one time recharge of Rs.16.

Compare this with Vodafone STD offer South pack in which all calls to 4 south Indian states will cost only 50p/min right from the first minutes.

Compare with Airtel Special 5 offer, in which any STD call to an Airtel number will cost only 50p/min.

Compare with my favourite Tata Docomo, where you’ll only be charged 1p/s for the first 27000 seconds of STD calling in a month and then 2p/s. This means that you can talk nearly 15 minutes of STD calls daily at only 1p/s.

Compare with Reliance Jaadu Pack STD offer, where calls for either landline or mobile are charged at 50p/s
