Is Dolby digital sound possible in mobiles phones?
Bring an LG smart Viewty (GC 900) and you’ll know that is it possible. With Dolby mobile being available in this one, you can seriously experience the ‘Surround sound’ effect while watching movies. The standard 3.5mm jack can play out tracks with best digital quality possible. Viewty can play mp3, aac, aac+, and midi format audio and avi, mp4, 3gp and DivX in Video. Also there is a built in FM radio. (Compare with Sony Ericsson Xperia X10)
Coming to the phone itself, LG Viewty is a 3G enabled phone with Wifi and GPS functions.
It is built in with an S class User Interface that coupled with an 8 mp camera (with LED flash) can truly give you a digital camera experience. Besides, simply shooting pictures, Viewty has some exceptional features for a mobile phone like 3 face detection which can detect up to 3 faces for perfect exposure and control, touch shot, Continuous shot that can take 6 pictures on a roll, Smile shot, beauty shot, Art shot etc. The camera adjusts it self automatically to provide the best settings for the picture clarity. Take your pictures and Geo tag them (if you want) and send them to your web album in one click.
This comes with an internal memory of 1.5GB and an 8GB memory card. However, if need be, the external memory is expandable up to 32GB using a MicroSD card.
Coming to the connectivity, it has Bluetooth (can send all contacts using Bluetooth), TV/projector out, works on GSM 850/900/1800/1900, HSDPA 7.2, EDGE, GPRS UMTS : 2100/900.
Some special features such as Anti theft mobile tracker, Movie maker, Application lock, Multitasking add additional value to this mobile. You also have a bunch of Google services like Google Maps, Gmail, YouTube, Google search, Blogger etc.
For country specific applications, you have NDTV Active application for India which continuously tracks for latest news and stock quotes.
If there is any thing that is disappointing, that should be the front on look of this phone. I’m not a fan of those ‘Screen inside huge border’ things, be it television, Laptop or a mobile phone. But that’s totally my opinion. One advantage of having huge borders is that it gives more ruggedness to the mobile. Your phone may still be working fine even after a high fall, thanks to the thick borders.
Having said that, I’m totally in love with its look from the back, giving a touch of silvery metal.
This ships in India at Rs.24990.
