Calling doesn’t get any cheaper than this-Pay per call offer

by Sriraj on October 12, 2009

By now every one of you must have been aware of the new path breaking offer of Tata Indicom – Pay Per Call offer.

To put in simple words, no matter how long you talk*, you’ll only be charged Rs.1 for a local call and Rs.3 for a STD call.

*It used to unlimited when it was introduced but now it is limited to 10 minutes. So essentially, a local call is charged at 1 rupee for 10 minutes and STD call at 3 rupees for 10 minutes.

And not to forget the daily rental of Rs.1.

All you have to do is get a started kit at Rs.99 and you’re on Pay Per Call plan.

Is it this simple? Well, not really.

If you are a new customer to Tata Indicom, you have to purchase a new CDMA handset along with the starter kit to get into this plan.

If you put the new sim card in any old or used CDMA handset, you’ll be in the default Rs.1 per minute plan and NOT the Pay Per Call plan.

If you are already an existing customer, then to shift to this plan you have to recharge with RCV 96. But sadly, many customers reported that the recharge isn’t working and Tata Indicom is ‘forcing’ to get a new handset.

Even after all this if you really want a good bargain on your call rates, then the Pay Per Call plan should be the best. Throw your landline away and make this new connection your default for making outgoing calls.

All you have to do is get a Pay Per Call starter kit at Rs.99 and get a damn cheap mobile phone at only Rs.1099 (Huawei – C2803) or Rs.1299 (Huawei- C2905) or Rs.1499 (Samsung Raaga, Radio-moto-210).

If you are crazy about using Dual Sim (GSM+CDMA) and want to use your current GSM sim along with this new connection, you have mobiles starting from Rs.4999 (Haier GC 100), Rs.5999 (Samsung Duo). (Also consider Spice Killer Dual Sim mobile)

Visit Tata Indicom stores near your house to purchase these mobiles and ‘end counting of minutes’.
