Onida Dual SIM mobile
Onida as a company in India used to be associated with Television right from 1981, when the company was Born. But of late Onida, forayed into other consumer goods categories as well, such as Air conditioners, Washing machines, Mobile phones, Projectors. Infact when some one talks about Onida, I only remember one Ad in television that of a Devil like person saying ‘Onidaaa’. Very recently, Onida has also began promoting its Air conditioners seriously and hence that Ad of the same Devil person saying ‘An AC that cannot keep the room cool at 40 degree’s is a cooler’ is also a popular one.
And now, it’s time for Mobile phones. It’s ironic to relate Onida with Mobile phones but Onida has other ideas. It may have thought ‘when others (LG, Samsung…) can, why can’t we?’
So here is a Dual SIM mobile phone from Onida that I tried lately, named Onida F 910.
First thing to say about this little one is the price, it’s under 7000INR, Rs.6900 to be precise. For such a low price, I have to say that it’s got reasonable list of features for some one who is looking for a Dual Sim mobile to go for.
A 2 Mega Pixel camera is decently built but it hasn’t got a flash with it.
The Sound quality looked good even when playing at near full volume. And yes, it can play MP3 songs without a problem.
The facility of charging through USB is an advantage especially when you use it’s PC suit in Sync.
The GPRS and Bluetooth connectivity are Ok. The keypad seems to be very responsive and neatly build too.
However, since this is still early days for Onida, there are a few things that may be of concern to you.
The first thing should be the Support for the device after you buy it. In every other street you find a Nokia customer care shop but with Onida, it’s not the case. Leave behind the online support; they don’t even have a customized website for Mobiles section.
The talk time is also a bit on the lower side, where it can last for a maximum of 3 hours.
So, I’d say this is a basic dual sim phone that you could get for under Rs.7000 (Unless you go for the Chinese makes without IMEI number) which is worth a try.

Samsung C5212 is cheaper than this, (My friend bought it for 6.8K0 and of course, more reliable than ONIDA
You could also try the Intex Dual SIM. Only priced at Rs.3699 and also Sigmatel. Although Sigmatel as a company is no more, it’s phones still exists.
Is this Sigmatel the same as one being acquired by Freescale semiconductor of USA?
