Nokia X6- Cute, smart, powerful and much more

by Sriraj on October 13, 2009

Unless you saw the new Chocolate model of LG, I bet you have never seen a beautiful phone than Nokia X6. Its’ touch screen enabled and made for those Social Networking buffs who need to be online 24×7. The S60 5th edition OS is the same as you may have seen in 5800 Xpress music phone but the touch sensitivity is way better than the lagging 5800 and the main reason for that is the use of a capacitive touch screen in place of a resistive touch screen.

You also have a stunning 5 meg pix camera to add to the look from the back side.

Like the Xpress music versions, this mobile too ‘comes with music’ for unlimited free downloads from the Nokia Music Store.

You needn’t have an external MicroSD memory card for this as this one packs 32 gigs of internal memory which can easily store tons of your favourite tracks, videos and Pics.

You have the advantage of 5800 like contacts bar from where you can quickly access the contacts of your best friends and also the  N97 style widNokia-X6gets which can stream the latest status updates or tweets right on to the home screen.

The 16:9 aspect ratio makes the screen look more stunning which in a way covers up the thin width of the  phone. X6 has a 3.2 inch long touch screen by the way.

A small and cute Micro USB and 3.5mm audio jack make up the connectors segment of the phone. The BL-5J  batter promises 35 hours of music play back and 4 hours of Video playback.

X6 has Wi-Fi capability with b/g network (‘n’ could have been fantastic) and 3G network with HSDPA with a  maximum speed of 3.6 mbps.

It also has a TV out cable for quick view of picture and videos on a large screen and the 5 meg pix camera has  Auto-focus capabilities and can zoom up to 4x.

Since it packs the same S60 5th edition OS as 5800 Xpress music, other applications such as IMAP, POP, SMTP email protocol support, Ovi email, GPS, Music store and Ovi Maps are found in this one too.

This one is soon expected to hit the Indian markets and if the price stays in the range of Rs.23000 – 25000  (less will be even fantastic), this will surely be a performer.

I read about the new LG Chocolate. Looks very similar to X6, very sleek and long design. Interestingly its screen is divided into 4 blocks (but its all in one piece don’t worry) each of which can operate different function. Fantastic feature. Should keep an eye on it release.

Mani, you made my 5800 sound like a bull ****. Thank god that I buyed it for only Rs.13000 this diwali, else it would have been my worst buy.

Well actually, this isn’t going to be priced any where near Rs.20000 for simple reasons.
First, it uses a capacitive touch screen as you said which is more ‘hi-tech’ than 5800 and
second, it is more sturdily and superbly built phone than the loose sounding 5800.
So, look around Rs.28000 if you have plans to buy this one.
