Karbonn mobiles becomes the official Sponsors for Cape Cobras and Diamond Eagles  CLT20 Team

It’s not that long ago since we heard the name Karbonn mobiles in India. And today, the brand is Sponsoring a team in the cash-rich Champions league T20 tournament.

Was the brand so successful in such a short time or is it that they want to take the brand to new heights?

I’d say both and I’d also thank Tata Docomo for the success of Karbonn mobile.

As far as I can remember, the price wars among the mobile operators started or rather gone on to the next level only after the entry of Tata Docomo. We saw BSNL offering its subscribers the one second pulse option, followed by decreased call rate plans by Aircel (1-2-3 STD plan), Bharti Airtel (Airtel Advantage plan), and lately Reliance with its Simply Reliance plan. Not to forget the sister network of Tata Docomo, Tata Indicom offering its revolutionary Pay-per-call plan.

Simply put, what this war has done this to subscribers is to take advantage of each one of them and hence Dual Sim mobiles became such a craze.

Now, I’d use Tata Indicom for making local calls of 10 minutes each and still pay only 1 rupee and use either Reliance or Tata Docomo for making STD calls and pay half the price.

Karbonn mobiles made its entry into India by stressing on the fact that it specializes in making Dual Sim mobiles and here it is today with huge success sponsoring Cape Cobras. And still some big players like Nokia are unable to recognize the Dual Sim craze in India.
