You too might have heard ‘Karbonn Mobiles‘?
It’s got a wide range of mobile phones categorized into Dual-Sim, touch screen and entry level phones. Now this one is about a Dual sim mobile phone named K 770 which has the potential to be the standard Dual Sim mobile of this generation.
When we speak of Dual sim mobiles, we are only talking about relatively un-known brands in this field for example Onida since for some strange reason top brass companies like Nokia or Ericsson never entered this Dual Sim mobile niche. We also find those Chinese made phone which boast all those features that an iPhone or a Blackberry has and in addition provide Dual sim ability and yet priced at only near Rs.5000 or under. But you know what the problem with those mobiles is? There’ll be no IMEI number or no valid IMEI number and also there’ll not be any guarantee. You buy the phone today and it may be crashed tomorrow and you’ll have no one to ask. The Government has announced a ban on those phones any way.
Here are the specifications of Karbonn mobile K 770.
First the looks are fantastic with a big screen of 2.4 inches and a 3.2 mp camera.
There’s no LED flash and that a serious minus. The connectivity formats supported is GSM 900, 1800, EDGE, GPRS and of course Bluetooth.
A USB slot is provided for quick Sync of data between the mobile and your PC. It supports mp3, midi, wav and amr audio formats besides 3gp and mp4 video formats.
The phone memory is un fortunately only 1016 KB (nearly 1 mb) but the expandable memory is allowed up to 8 GB.
Supports internet browsing only as WAP but doesn’t support HTML. There’s an in built radio which has to be a default these days if a mobile has to be sold in India.
Besides these, it has some un-conventional features like Anti theft protector, health management application, World clock, dedicated keys for FM, music player and camera.

By the way, I’ve been using a Dual Sim phone from yet another player Orion since almost one year. Orion 920DS. It happens to be a pretty good deal for its cool looks, quality and decent performance. It also boasts a 2MP (?) camera. Ho hummm better we skip this topic please! ‘www.orionmobiles.com’
But have no doubts about the quality (Except camera. Of course!) Orion is a leader in Television and Electronic manufacturing since 1913 in Hungary. The company is also tied up with Accelfrontline for after sales service. Accelfrontline is a pioneer in electronic servicing since ages.
Frankly and unfortunately, The so called Karbonn isn’t really attracting the young generation in its strategies. In the present tech-savvy world, everyone would look for a decent inbuilt memory and of course Java in any handset. As far as my knowledge none of the Karbonn branded mobile phones have a decent inbuilt memory which is a serious minus considering today’s tech-savvy generation. Honestly, Micromax is doing a better job in this particular field.

Sorry but its very necessary to tell that its battery backup is very very bad,,,don evn last for 4 hrs(K 770) and its software is worst coz every day alteast for 1ce ma cell hangs…..

. Honestly speaking this mobile is the worst of those available on the market.
1 dictionary lacks most words; there are no words in past tense
2 processing speed is ver slow ( four times slower than others)
3 battery takes more time to charge (several hours)
4 Very sensitive to shock – i screwed mine in a week
There are certain good features about his mobile however… i have decided that the above disadvantages makes it nothing more than a piece of junk
