Man Vs Wild or Survivor man
Bear Grylls, the show stopper presenter of the show Man Vs Wild of Discovery channel needs no introduction. I’m a huge fan of him and have never missed a telecast of Man Vs Wild, which should be the most popular show here in India on Discovery channel, at least by seeing the number of Advertisements the show receives. I even have Bear Grylls’s picture as the wall paper on my Laptop 
The way he dives in to spine chilling ice water with absolutely no clothes from this end swims through and gets out at the other end, the way he gets into quick sand knowing the fact that that particular quick sand has seen the end of many life’s, the way he eats bare animals (snakes, OMG) are just amazing. These are just a few examples of what this multi faceted ‘Man’ can do. The show is basically about how to survive is ‘Alien situations’ when you have no one to get help from.
I have to say that even my mother enjoys his show except for the fact that she can’t bear seeing him eat a live snake (Yakkk).
Of late, I’m seeing a new show on Discovery channel called ‘Survivor Man‘. A small research says that the show is first telecasted in 2006 in Canada/US but is very new in India. At least I saw it recently for the first time. Its presenter is Les Stroud and this show also deals with how to survive in extreme conditions. The only difference is that in Man Vs Wild, there will be other crew members along with Bear Grylls but here in Survivor Man, there will only be Les Stroud and no one else (if we were to believe it). I only saw one episode of Survivor man that is the episode of ‘Survival in Rocky mountains’ for 7 days.
I thought the show would be great initially but as the show progressed I found nothing interesting or out-of-the-world stuff that I’ll find in case of Man Vs Wild to stick around for 1 hour. The presentation and filming of the show wasn’t that grabbing compared to Bear Grylls’ show. I also get the feeling that Bear Grylls was much better narrating the stories than Les Stroud (This is no technical review but only my observation from the 2 shows. Hard core fans of Les Stroud, excuse me )
As I said I only watched one episode of this series but for now, if I was to compare the two shows, Man Vs Wild should be the winner, hands down.

no doubt les stroud gets all the food materials, so there is no question of survival, no person is born in world to lead bear grylls, his knowledge is just like a dictionary, i too see dreams of becoming just like u, may i know what all u have done to reach this post??
There is no post here, only experience. You know Bear was trained in the British special forces and fought a war in Vietnam. That’s where his knowledge comes from.
bear grylls personality is awesome because of his shows and his vigorous effort and dedication.he definitely a cool man in strange condition.i honestly speaking i want to go with bear for an adventure if he grant.

Bear is absolutely a good survival expert.He knows everything about how to come out of extremely difficult situations.:)
man v/s wild is an amazing show it tells us how to get out from serious situations,he explain us to get rid of these situations very well.Bear Grylls is a very good guy.He always have positive attitude whenever he go some where.He never give up , that spirit of him i like so much.

Those shows are bull crap who shows up n has to “survive” n say I only have a knife matches fishing string and some candy… All I got to say is WTF who carrys all that crap as a day to day thing or pullin flares out like there an every day item what kind of survival shit is that… They need to put them out in the wild with nothing but the shirt on their backs then see what happens
Man vs Wild by far the best
Les Stroud did all camera work. If you saw him walking away from the camera, that means he returns for it after. Do you know how much camera equipment he had to carry on himeself? Bear’s show has better cinematography no doubt, but that’s because of the whole camera crew assigned to the show. I have more respect for Les Stroud work, because he’s shows is documentary and true, in distiction to staged and crazy Bear’s show.
Accepted.
But unfortunately, after all the tidy office work, I return home and watch TV for some ‘entertainment’ and Bear provides me that. Les’ is great no doubt, but the slow pace of the show doesn’t appeal to me.
And who is more talented? Well, we can argue for years on that, but one can only reach the conclusion when bear and Les’ exchange the shows and see if they can perform their pal’s tasks.
Even I think Man vs wild is a better show.
I doubt whether there will be no crew members at all in Survivorman show? At time I see shots of Les Stroud with the camera from a distance, now who takes those shots?
Bear rocks. Absolutely in comparable are both the shows. MVW all the way.
All Bear fans have no idea about the reality of survival.If you like Bears show better thats because its got a film CREW.Bear takes crazy chances Les does not take.If Bear was ALONE like Les he would not tale chances either.That is done for the sake of the show.Falling and twisting an ankle or wrist could be death.
Les films the distance shots by setting up a camera he has to go back to get.Les also carries his own gear and camera gear.He tests devices supposedly made for emergency survival. Helps to find out what works.
Oh has any Bear fan ever spent the night alone in the wilderness? Its was different than with even one other person.

I think we all just like man vs wild more because we are used to the show,
If survivor man was the first show we all saw then we would all be critising man vs wild,
And who knows if survivor man is really alone,
I have sometimes seen some aerial shot in the program,
What is that all about,
Oh, and I’m sure he has some emergency contact,
I think that he can call 911 at any time,
But according to me,
Both shows are great
I second the opinion that Survivor man is not alone. I didn’t see aerial shots but I sure saw shots where he’d go too far (just too far) from a camera. And I can’t believe if someone says he will come back to take the camera in those treacherous conditions.
Comparing both shows, Survivorman is just plain bore without any excitement. Bear on the other hand is all about excitement and hence his show rocks.
