A Salary of 1 Lakh Dollars per year for a fresher!! Till now, it was only a talk from the western part of the world. But now, it has happened in India too. And if anyone has to give that sort of salary to a fresher, it has to be one of those hot Tech/Social Media companies.
In this case, it is the World’s leading Social networking site Facebook that has signed a 4 th year Computer Science student from NIT Warangal for a whooping 45 Lakhs/year salary (or, just say 1 lakh dollars). The 21 year old kid will immediately join the Technical Development side of Facebook as soon as he completes his Bachelors’ in March 2012.
As you may know, NIT Warangal, an institute founded more than 50 years ago, is arguably the best NIT present in the country, attracting top AIEEE rankers, especially in the Computer Science stream. And where there is talent, there will be companies looking out to snatch them before anyone else could.
This offer of 45 Lakhs has surprised many, since the highest salary the Institute has seen till date was Rs.20 lakhs per year, in the previous academic year when 3 students were offered similar figures.
The average pay being offered this year too has increased significantly, according to NIT Warangal officials. While it was something between Rs.6 and 7 lakhs last year, it is between Rs.5 and 12 lakhs this time around.
