The shipping corporation of India Ltd (www.shipindia.com), invites applications from eligible Indian citizens for the posts of ‘Trainee Seaman’.
The candidate must have passed class 10/12 from a recognized Institute and must have completed 4 modular courses from any institute approved by DG Shipping and possess the certificates of Fire safety and Fire fighting, Personal survival techniques, elementary first aid and Personal safety and social responsibilities.
The candidate must also have a valid Indian CDC, Passport, PAN card and INDOS number.
In addition to the above, the candidate should have a certificate of Tanker familiarization course/Dangerous cargo endorsements.
As on 1 June 2010, the candidate should not be more than 30 years of age. This can be extended by 3 years for OBC and by 5 years for SC/ST candidates.

Note: Candidates claiming age relaxation must also send Government approved copy of community certificate.
Candidates who do not have PAN card, Tanker familiarization course/Damgerous cargo endorsements certificate can apply, for now, but will have to produce them at the time of joining, if selected.
