Staff Selection Commission (www.ssc.nic.in) invites applications form all over India for the Combined Higher Secondary Level (10+2) examination 2010 recruitment program.
There are two posts for which this recruitment is being conducted, Data Entry Operator and Lower Division Clerk. Combined, it is learnt that there are nearly 10000 vacancies.
Both the posts require the same educational qualification, that of Higher Secondary exam (10+2). Candidates with higher qualifications such as Degree are automatically eligible for the SSC recruitment.
Pay Scale and selection
Data Entry Operators will be paid a salary in the pay scale of Rs.5200 – 20200 with a grade pay of Rs.2400 while Lower Division clerks will be paid in the same pay scale of Rs.5200 – 20200 but with a grade pay of Rs.1900.
Selection of candidates will be made through a written test in Objective type mode followed by a Skill test, that of typing speed on a computer for the successful candidates in the written test.
Skill test can be taken in either English or Hindi.
How to Apply
Candidates can apply by the traditional way of downloading the application form from the SSC website, fill it with details, affix a photograph and send it to the given address along with a Rs.100 worth central recruitment fee or CRF stamp.
But, the easiest way of applying is to apply online. Candidates can visit ssconline.nic.in and go to the examination link present at the top and then go to Part 1 registration.
After completing the part 1 registration, you’ll be given a registration ID which should be noted somewhere for future use.
On the same page, you’ll find a bank challan which you have to download and pay the fee (if required, as the case may be) in any branch of State Bank of India. Or better still, if you have a SBI Net banking account, you can directly proceed to Part II registration from where you can pay the fee using your Internet Banking account online.
After paying the fee, come to the same website ssconline.nic.in and start the Part 2 registration where you’ll be filling your Bank payment details and uploading of your photograph and signature.
Tip: Just use a good quality camera to take pictures of your signature and photo put on a white background.
Photo must be at max 100px in width and 120px in height and signature must be with in 140px in width and 60px in height.
Application closing date is 20 August 2010.
The entire recruitment process will be completed with in 9 months.
