SBI 4500 PO’s recruitment notification

State bank of India, the largest bank in India has just announced another huge recruitment notification in the junior management grade scale. It has to be noted that the application forms for the notification for PO vacancies in SBI associate banks (over 1000 vacancies) has just concluded and now you have this notification from SBI itself.

Posts and number of vacancies

Total number of vacancies is 4500.

Probationary Officers (JMGS I): 2500 (General: 1162, OBC: 621, ST: 372, SC: 345)

Probationary Officers (JMGS I) in Rural business: 2000 (General: 1010, OBC: 540, ST: 150, SC: 300)

Educational qualifications

To be eligible for the above vacancies you must have at least 60% marks in 12th standard (55% for SC/ST/PWD) or in Diploma after 10th and have at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ST/PWD) in Graduation (any stream).

Age requirements

The age of the applicant should not be less than 21 years and be not above 30 years as on 28.02.2010.

Relaxation is age of up to 3 years for OBC, 5 years for SC/ST/EX-Servicemen, 10 years for VH/OH (General), 13 years for VH/OH (OBC) and 15 years for VH/OH (SC/ST) is permissible as per Government rules.

Application fee and how to apply

Eligible candidates need to pay a fee of Rs.500 (Rs.50 for SC/ST/PWD) through a challan (Download SBI PO challan form/cash voucher from SBI website) that must be deposited at any branch of SBI.

After depositing the fee, candidates must apply only through online by visiting http://registration.sifyitest.com/posbi/

Selection of candidates

Selection of candidates will be done through a common written test followed by Group discussion and a personal Interview.

The written test will be for 250 marks for 3 hrs duration.

For PO’s GD will be for 30 marks and Interview 20 marks and for PO’s (Rural Business), GD will be for 10 marks, Interview for 30 marks and 10 marks for Experience in similar field)

Important dates

Starting date for depositing fee using challan and to apply online: 01.02.2010

Last date to deposit the fee using cash voucher: 28.02.2010

Last date to apply online: 02.03.2010

Written test date: 11.04.2010
