Allahabad: 97 vacancies (plus 3 for Ex SM)
Bangalore: 170 vacancies (plus 17 for Ex SM)
Chandigarh: 41 vacancies (plus 14)
Chennai: 199 vacancies (plus 19)
Guwahati: 45 vacancies (plus 5)
Kolkata: 277 vacancies (plus 28)
Muzaffarpur: 63 vacancies (plus 6)
Mumbai: 319 vacancies (plus 32)
Ranchi: 81 vacancies (plus 
Secunderabad: 127 vacancies (plus 4)
Thiruvananthapuram: 52 vacancies (plus 5)
Traffic Assistant
Kolkata only: 24 vacancies plus 4 reserved for Ex Servicemen.
For both Assistant station master and Traffic assistant post, the pay scale applicable is Rs.5200 – 20200 plus a grade pay of Rs.2000
Educational Qualifications and Age
Applicants must be in the age group of 18 to 33 years as on 1 July 2010. Upper age limit will be relaxed by 3 years for OBC, 5 years for SC/ST and 10 years for PHC.
The candidate should have the following educational qualification:
A degree in any stream from a recognized University. Candidates having a diploma in rail transport and mgmt or Transport Economics or Multimodal transport from Rail transport, Rail Bhawan in New Delhi will be an optional but preferred qualification.

Examination fee and How to Apply
A DD of Rs.60 must be taken in favour of ‘Assistant Secretary or Secretary or Member secretary or Chairman of _____ Railway Recruitment Board’.
There is no fee for SC/ST/Ex-Servicement/PHC/Women/Minorities and for candidates whose total annual family income is less than Rs.50000.
The application form in given format neatly written in candidates own handwriting along with other necessary forms must be sent to the concerned RRB addresses (open links below) before the last date 23.03.2010 by 5.30pm.

let me know what is the current salary for assistant station master (ASM) means i want to know what is the exact figure of take home salary after deductions and gross salary and what are the allowances will be given for assistant station master and what are the facilities will be provided. is do we need to work in shifts if yes for how many days in a month do we need to work in night shift. and i want to know what is the salary at training period. You can apply.
That means, say if there is 1 vacancy for which you and other candidate having B.Com plus diploma in rail transport qualification (and considering that you both perform similarly in Interview), the other person will be preferred over you.
Which essentially means that the extra qualification is only an Advantage, not mandatory.
