When ever there’s a recruitment notification from the RRB’s, it will generally be a big one and it’s been a long time since we saw one such notification and it’s just about time that we have one. The central Railway recruitment board has come out with a mega recruitment notification for Assistant Loco Pilots (ALP).
Number of vacancies across various RRB’s is 16595 (General: 8170, OBC: 4141, SC: 2695 and ST: 1589).
As always, selected candidates will be paid in the basic pay scale of Rs.5200 – 20200.
To be eligible for the selection process (written test), you should either have a Diploma in mechanical/electrical/electronics/automobile engineering or have an ITI certificate in any of the following trades, Fitter, Electrician, Instrument mechanic, Maintenance Mechanic, mechanic Radio and TV, Electronics mechanics, Mechanic Motor Vehicle, Wireman, Tractor/diesel/refrigeration & AC Mechanic, Heat engine, Turner or Machinist.
Age of the candidates must be between 18 and 30 years as on 1 January 2012. Maximum age can be up to 33 years for OBC and 35 years for SC/ST applications.
Application process and RRB wise vacancies will be available in individual RRB websites shortly. Candidates will have to download the application and take a DD or postal money order of Rs.40 in favour of ‘The Assistant Secretary – RRB Secunderabad’ (for example) and send them to the mentioned address before the last date of 12 September 2011.
