Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC of India) is inviting applications from students belonging to economically backward families to award scholarships as a part of its Golden Jubilee Foundation (LICGJF). Scholarships will be awarded to students who have qualified class 10 with at least 60% in 2011 and will join vocational courses in Government recognized colleges or in ITI and to those who have complete class 12 with 60% and will join Engineering, Graduation (any subject), Medicine or Diploma (any subject) in 2011.
Depending on the course length, scholarship of Rs.10000 per year (at Rs.1000 per month for 10 months in each year) will be offered for the entire course period.
The other condition here is that the family income should not be more than Rs.60000 per year. Also note that this scholarship will only be offered to only one person in the family.
20 such scholarships will be allotted to each LIC Divisional office zone, 10 to boys and 10 to girls (there are more than 110 divisional offices of LIC in the country).
Eligible students, should only apply online by visiting LIC of India before that last date 8 August 2011.
