LIC of India invites applications from eligible Indian Nationals for the posts of Apprentice Development Officers (ADO).
There are a total of 5578 vacancies under ADO category which are divided in various zones as per their requirement.
Number of vacancies in each zone
Northern Zone (Delhi, Haryana, HP, J&K, Punjab, Rajasthan, Chandigarh) – 727 vacancies
North central Zone (UP, Uttarakhand) – 718 vacancies
Central Zone (MP, Chattisgarh) – 415 vacancies
East central zone (Jharkhand, Bihar, Orissa) – 614 vacancies
Eastern Zone (WB, Assam, Andaman & Nicobar, NE states) – 713 vacancies
South central Zone (AP, Karnataka) – 685 vacancies
Southern zone (Tamilnadu, Kerala) – 634 vacancies
Western zone (Goa, Gujarat, Maharashtra) – 1072 vacancies
Age requirement
Applicants must be over 21 years and be below 30 years as on 1 March 2010. Upper age limit is extended by 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC (LIC employees also have relaxations).
Educational Qualifications
Candidates should possess any Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University in India or from an Approved foreign University or have the fellowship of Insurance Institute of India, Mumbai.
In addition to the above qualification, Preference may be given to those candidates having Masters Degree in Business administration in Marketing/PG Diploma in Marketing from a recognized Institute.
Post Qualification Experience
If you are applying under the LIC Employees category, you need to have at least 3 years of service after a Class III post.
If you are applying under LIC Agents category, you need to have at least 5 years (4 years if in Rural area) of experience as an Agent and have bough a net first years premium income of not less than Rs.5 lakh for 5 agency years and a net first year premium income if Rs.1 lakh for each of any 3 of those 5 agency years.
If you are not associated with LIC in any way and are applying as a fresh candidate, you are not required to have any experience as such. But, preference will be given to those candidates having 2 years experience in Insurance Industry.
How to apply
Interested and eligible candidates have to first download the fee payment challan (Rs.300 for General, OBC candidates. No fee for SC/ST) from careers section of LIC website and pay it at any branch of LIC of India.
After that, candidates have to apply online by visiting http://registration.sifyitest.com/licado

Online registration fee payment starts from 17 March 2010
Last date to apply online and pay the fee is 17 April 2010.
