Kerala Post, a regional division of India post invites applications for the posts of Postal assistant and Sorting assistant.
Total number of vacancies is 493.
Pay scale of the above posts is Rs.5200 – 20200 plus a grade pay of Rs.2400 plua applicable allowances.
To be eligible you must be in the age group of 18 to 25 years as on 26.10.2009.
Upper age limit is relaxable up to 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC candidates and other rules for PHC and Ex-servicemen are applicable as per rules.
You should be a pass candidate in 10+2 or 12th standard from a recognized Board/University.
Higher qualification candidates can also apply.
Local language of Malayalam and Hindi, English may be required for some posts.
Knowledge of computers and typing skills is preferable.
Candidates will be shortlisted based on the marks secured in their 12 standard and be called for a written test, which will be followed by a computer test.
The application fee is Rs.25 and the application form can be obtained from any HPO or Sub Post offices in Kerala.

Application forms downloaded from the website should be affixed with a postal stamp of Rs.25, failing which the application will not be considered.
Filled in applications must be sent to the respective post offices only by registered post or Speed post and the envelop must be clearly super scribed with the post applied for.
