As we said before about the IIST 2010 admission process, IIST today has announced the admission test details to get into the prestigious IIST and there by making a way to enter the ISRO.
As said earlier, getting into IIST is all that you need to do and the rest will be taken care by IIST. Every student will be given an assistantship package that covers the entire cost of their education, boarding and lodging. Also, as soon as you complete your B.Tech in IIST, with a minimum stipulated performance, you’ll be absorbed into ISRO as Scientists/Engineers.
ISAT 2010 Exam application details (Admission test for IIST 2010-11, B.Tech program)
You must have passed class 12 or its equivalent for the first time in 2009 or 2010 (provided the results are available by 1 July 2010).
General and OBC candidates should have scores at least 70% in aggregate in class 12 with main subjects being Maths, Physics and Chemistry (60% for SC/ST/PD candidates)
In class 10, General and OBC candidates should have scores 70% in all subjects combined (60% for SC/ST/PD candidates)
General and OBC candidates should be born on or after 1 October 1985. SC/ST/PC candidates should have been born after 1 October 1980.
Rs.500 for Gen and OBC (Rs.250 for SC/ST/PD) which should be paid in the form of a DD taken in favour of ‘The Registrar, IIST’ payable at Thiruvananthapuram.
Candidates should first take the DD as mentioned above.
Then they should apply online at www.iist.ac.in/IIST/ISAT2010/ or www.isac.gov.in/iist/
After applying online, the candidates must take a print out of the application form, admit card, accompanied by the DD must be sent to ‘The Chairman, ISAT 2010, Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), ISRO post, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala 695022.
Online applications open from 21 December 2009 (10am)
Online applications close on 31 January 2010 (11.30pm)
Last date of receipt of hard copies of application form, Admit card and DD by post is 8 February 2010
Date of ISAT 2010 test is 16 April 2010.
