Common entrance test for Banks from 2011

Institute of Banking Personnel selection (IBPS) has announced that starting 2011, a common entrance test will be conducted on behalf of all the Public Sector Bank’s that have agreed to this process and have vacancies at that point of time. At present, it is said that as many as 20 PSU Bank’s have agreed for common test proposal. This test will primarily focus on conducting entrance tests  for entry level posts, such as Clerks and Probationary Officers. It is yet to be known whether the Common entrance test will commence for all the new notifications that come in 2011 or will it also be applicable for the on going recruitment’s such as Central Bank Clerks, Union Bank clerks that have their written test in January/ February next year.

Once every thing is finalized and Bank CET is ready to be implemented, you will see notification from IBPS on behalf of all Banks’ that have vacancies and are ready to recruit. IBPS aims to conduct 3-4 such CET’s every year. One significant change in this process is that all candidate’s who’ve given their CET, will receive their score cards that will have some validity, like 1 to 1 ½ years. By this way, a candidate can use the same score card to apply to any Bank’s notification with in the validity period, instead of preparing for every notification that is released as in the present system. Both, the recruitment time and the stress on applicant’s is reduced through a Bank CET.
