AIEEE 2010 counselling process

Now that you have your AIEEE rank, the next job is to get a seat in a desired Engineering (or Architecture/planning) Institute through the counselling conducted by CCB or Central Counselling Board. There will be week’s time between the declaration of AIEEE results and the start of the counselling process.

AIEEE 2010 counselling stages

The counselling will be done online through a web based model. If the candidates are comfortable with computers, they may participate in the counselling from their homes or visit any participating institutions during working hours for guidance.

Registration

The first stage will be registering yourself at the CCB website at www.ccb.nic.in. To register, you will need your Name (as indicated in the Admit card), Roll number, Application number and Date of birth. If all the data matches with the information stored in CCB database, you will be allowed for the next page where you have to choose your password (minimum 8 characters) that will be used for the entire purpose of online counselling.

Selection of colleges

The next stage will be to choose your colleges and branches. Depending on your rank and eligibility, all the available Institutions and respective branches will be displayed on the screen. You are permitted to choose as many colleges as possible.

From time to time, depending on the number of entries received from all the candidates, as indicative seat allotment will be displayed on the counselling website which will further give you an idea on where you are placed among others.

Locking the colleges

It is essential to lock your options after all the choices are selected. Only locked options will be considered for seat allotment.

This entire process starting from registration to locking of options will be completed in the month of June 2010.

Seat Allotment results

During the first week of July, tentative seat allotments will be displayed in your CCB account. You have to then report to any of the admission center for certificate verification.

Required certificates

During this stage you will require the following certificates in original:

AIEEE 2010 score card

DOB Proof (Class 10 certificate)

Mark sheets and pass certificate of class 12 or Intermediate.

Category certificate from competent authority in case of SC/ST/OBC/PH candidates

Along with the above, you will need two sets of attested copies of all the above certificates and two similar passport photos that are attached along with the AIEEE Application form.

After all the verification is done and the initial fee being paid, you will be given a provisional admission letter containing the college and branch.

If you are not happy with the Institution allotted to you, you will have the choice to give higher ranked Institutions at this stage where your choice will be considered in further 3 rounds of counselling conducted for vacant seats.

Final admission letter will only be issued after all the 4 rounds of counselling are done and this will normally be over in the last week of July 2010.
