Use image ALT and TITLE tags for better SEO

In the last post we’ve seen how to put the ads just below your post title. But why would you want that? Just because the chances of getting a click would be higher, isn’t it?

But for that to happen you need a good traffic. Its of no use making all these changes to your blog without any traffic. When does traffic come to your site?Only when your site is indexed higher on search engines.Thats possible only when you use proper SEO techniques. One of such technique is to use a ALT tag whenever you upload any image into you posts.

For example say you upload a car picture onto your post. The normal structure of the picture when you look into the source of it would be as  <img src=”http://www.xyz.com/car.gif”>

If you use a ALT tag it would be like <img src=”http://www.xyz.com/car.gif” alt=”image of a beautiful buggy car”>

Another important thing with image SEO is to use  a title for the image because the search engines look for text and not images(not exactly as image search also depends on the text around that image.so placing of your image in your posts is also important).Using a title tag is more important than using a ALT tag as some browser dont recognise ALT tags(some versions of firefox).

The wordpress by default have such options of writing ALT tags and title. So next time when you upload and image please spare some time in filling those blank boxes with some useful stuff.

And btw the ALT tag is also called as the alternate tag or image caption

  1. Nice writings. But I can’t add this. I follow your tips but don’t work. How can I do now? Please inform me bro.

    • What I said was in general html. I see you using WordPress. When uploading an Image, fill out the title and ALT description and that automatically ads ALT tag to your image.

  2. Adding image will surely helps on your onpage optimization. I realised this when my post with images are indexed faster and those without it

  3. How to put ALT image in blogspot ?
    i really don’t understand..
