The two most talked about cars in the recent past form Maruti are A-Star and Splash. Now since A-Star is launched, Splash is the one to talk about. Suzuki splash made its debut as a concept car first introduced at the 2006 Paris motor show.
The same car is underway to be introduced in India as ‘Maruti Suzuki Ritz‘.
It’s being developed at the Manesar plant and may be ready to be introduced in June/July this year.
The look of the car is all fresh except the rear which looks like an old santro, flat.
The diesel version of the car is powered by a multi-jet engine of 1248cc displacement and power of 75 bhp, enough to be placed in the Swift category.
The variants of this car may be similar to that of Swift comprising VXi, ZXi, VDi, ZDi etc.
The other configurations of the car are as follows:
Torque: 190Nm@1750rpm
Length: 3715mm
Height: 1590mm
Width: 1680mm
Tyre size: 165/70, R14
5 speed manual gears and a possible 4 gear automatic system(?)
Fuel tank: 45 liters
Expected price: 4.3 – 5.5 lacs.
It’ll be bizarre for Maruti if this Ritz turns out to be the competition for Swift. Probably then Maruti decides that they should stop producing these small cars.

It’s immediately obvious that the Ritz has been engineered to come out trumps in the cut and thrust of urban driving. In fact, Maruti makes no bones about the city focus of its latest supermini which has just entered our long-term fleet.
everyday i drive this car……..i just want to say one line about this car which is enough for to describe its success. the line is “Ritz is new era of car”
I bought a new Ritz couple of weeks back, it’s excellent and I feel great for my choice. It gives 19 km/pl on high way and 16/pl in city with AC. The smoothness of the engine is better than the swift or others in its class. With full load the performance of the engine is excellent, the shift from 2-3 is much better than swift. The high seating position gives you great comfort while driving. The car is very spacious and excellent for elders to feel comfortable
I also like the space provided in the back seats of this car and the interior seems to be really cool the kind of plastic used is really good and even the roof height seems to be decent enough.
This car will be launched in second week of May and is coming in both Perol?diesal varients and the best part of this car is that it’s coming up with latest Engine -12..The K12M is essentially a 1197cc petrol engine that is capable of putting out 85 PS of power at 6000rpm in its current state of tune. Torque figures stand at 113Nm @ 4500rpm – which should make the Ritz a sprightly performer when it hits showrooms soon. The K12M’s technological superiority is showcased in its all-aluminium construction and the extensive use of plastic parts as was with the K10B as well..
