Times of India, the largest selling News paper in India now has an official App for the 3 Major Mobile OS platforms; iOS, Android and Blackberry. With in the iOS, the app is tailor-made for both iPhone and iPad.
Mobile users in any of these platforms can search in their respective stores for ‘The Times of India’ (by Times Internet Ltd) and download the app.
Till date, you had many apps providing Times of India news using their rss feeds but since this is an official app, you (obviously) get more options on how you want to read the news. You can select the sections (tech, sports, business etc) which you want to see news from, the number of articles per such sections, your default city, background color (black and white, more to please your eyes when reading in night/day conditions) etc.
Times of India site is known for its comments section, as much for its news content. If you too are into commenting, you will be happy to know that the commenting system is integrated in to the app and you can read comments easily. At least in the Android app, writing is not yet possible, which I’m sure will be added in releases to come.
The social aspect of the app is also integrated allowing you to share news articles with your Facebook, Twitter friends, or simply email some one.
The App itself is extremely smooth and the news articles automatically turn full screen when you are into reading the content giving you more screen area.
The best of all, there are no annoying ads (which you can almost be sure of coming in the future releases).
