Some time ago, we saw ‘Google Chrome to Phone’ which simply forwards links from your PC to your Android phone for reading on the go. While this is only one way, if you have a Samsung phone (Android), here is a two way App, called ‘Snap n Go’ that can quickly transfer, not only links, but also files between your PC and Phone using your local Wifi.
You can find this in ‘Samsung Apps’ on your phone. When it is done installing (apk) on your phone, you will find an executable file in ‘My Files’ which you have to transfer to your PC to complete the set up process.
To transfer files, simply connect both devices (PC and Phone) to the same WiFi and launch both apps.
Point your Phone’s camera on to the file on your Desktop which you want to transfer to your phone and tap the ‘Send to Phone icon’. Your PC Screen will flick into a big Reb/black coloured QR code and initiates the transfer.
To transfer files from your phone to PC, open the APK on your phone, navigate to the file from the App and select ‘Send to PC’.
With Snap n Go, you can transfer text, URL’s in the browser including Bookmarks and favourites (currently only works with Internet Explorer), Outlook calendar event and any Media file.
Files transferred to Phone will be placed in sdcard/sng directory.
Impressive application. File transfers are extrememly easy with this pair of Apps. Extremely easy to use, no configuration required from the user.
