Yesterday was a strange day for me with my Nokia device. There’s not a single day till yesterday that I didn’t log in to Ovi Store to check if there are any new Apps. Came yesterday and all I saw when trying to open Ovi Store was this message of ‘Unable to connect to server’!
I had no clue why that was happening again and again and there was no helpful alternative to solve that error message. The only way to get out of there was to click options and then exit. Then while going out for some work, when I opened the Maps for Navigation and tried to sign it, I got an error message saying that my password was wrong. My Bulb glows.
Then I remembered that I changed my Ovi accounts’ password the other day and hence the Ovi store wasn’t able to sign in (if there was this message in the Ovi Store saying that the password was incorrect, it would have made my life much easier).
Still, there was no way to enter the Ovi store and change the password. The only option was to delete the Ovi store App from the phone (delete all instances of like Ovi store, Ovi store client and Ovi store launcher).
If you have the latest firmware (V50), some older version of Ovi Store would be built in the OS. So, if you tried to open it after deleting it using the App manager, it would ask you to upgrade.
Do so, open the App, Sign in with the new password and you should be done without that ‘Unable to connect to server error’ (?)

Hope you guys have had a wonderful Christmas Vacation and are back at work …. wish u all a wonderful bug free 2011…. am reading so many posts of the OVI suite not able to connect and so many issues….am sure some are network related problems and some need your attention…am writing here as i have the same problem…. Could not sign in ..check you internet settings…strange i cant log in from my PC ..but i could download maps using ovi check updates etc etc… but just WONT LOG IN ….
Now that you guys are back….can we see responses to the several issues we are facing and resolutions to enjoy this service…. Please

i was also goin thru d same problem bt i uninstalled the ovi client n then again reinstalled it. now m able to sign in bt when i click on the download icon on any application then download doesn’t begins at all….
why the not create the new id for ovi store why again and again come back the same topic plz solve the problems
