Got into an auto but worried what the driver may charge you? Now you don’t have to. Simply use the Tuk Tuk 2 app that uses your phone’s GPS to precisely track the distance you’ve travelled and calculate the cost as per the Government prescribed meter rates for that city.
The rates, hence, are pre-filled for you in most cities of India, including, Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Pune, Chandigarh, Nagpur, Chennai, Trivandrum, Shillong and many more..
Understandably, these rates may change at any time and hence there is also an option to enter custom rates where you have to enter Rate per Km, Minimum distance and Minimum fare. If you don’t know these, your driver may help you.
The app is available on many mobile platforms such as Nokia’s Symbian, Android,iPhone and Blackberry. After your travel is complete, you also have an option to view the entire route travelled on your phone’s maps.
For all this to go well, obviously, your phone must have a good GPS reception signal with a healthy battery charge available.
